GTA 6 is anticipated to be one of the biggest video game releases of all time, yet Rockstar has kept details tightly under wraps. So far, only one trailer has been released, with speculation that another could drop later this year. However, no official date for the game’s release has been provided, leading to rumours it might slip into 2026.
Despite these concerns, Take-Two has clarified in its latest financial report that the game is scheduled for a “Fall of Calendar 2025” release, meaning it is expected to launch between September and November of that year. While a delay could still happen, Take-Two currently does not foresee one.
When asked if the exact release date would be revealed within the next three months, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick remained noncommittal, telling Variety, “I guess we’ll see.”
However, speculation is strong that a second trailer, possibly revealing the release date, could be released before the end of the year.
Meanwhile, GTA 5 continues to be a significant revenue generator for the company. The game, now approaching its ninth anniversary, has sold over 200 million copies across all platforms. It was the most downloaded PlayStation 5 game in June and the second-best-selling game in Europe, a testament to its enduring popularity, with Zelnick acknowledging it exceeded expectations last quarter.
